SA-U Series Solar Water Heaters are non-pressurized stand-alone systems, comprised of TB-I glass tubes with water as the heat transfer liquid.

SA-U Series Solar Water Heaters employ the natural convection phenomenon called “thermosyphon”, whereby hot water being lighter than cold water natural flow occurs.  The heated water rises through the glass tubes to enter the storage tank, while the cold water at the bottom of the tank flows into the tubes, creating continuous

circulation.  The convection flow will continue as long as the sun is heating the tubes. 

To overcome limited heat gain on colder or cloudy days more tubes are used to ensure the necessary daily volume requirement is achieved.
